This is one of the widest sections we carry in the F17 line, and at 35mm depth it’s built for coverage rather than bulk. Same high-density Victorian Ash as the rest of the range, same F17 rating, same kiln-drying process but a 240mm face changes the job it’s suited for. Where a narrower section might need doubling up to span a wide bearing point, this one does it in a single piece, which saves on fixings and labour on larger structural runs. It’s a size that mostly comes up on bigger sheds, wide bracing jobs, or floor systems where fewer, wider members make more sense than a run of narrower ones. Handling it on site is straightforward despite the width, it cuts and drills the same as smaller Vic Ash sections. Being local hardwood, restocking tends to be more reliable than waiting on imported alternatives in this size.
