Durasheet Fibre Cement Sheet
Durasheet is a general-purpose fibre cement sheet built for the jobs most other linings struggle with — eaves, soffits, gable ends, carport ceilings and external soffit linings. It works over both timber and steel framing, takes paint well, and stands up to Victorian weather without warping, rotting or feeding termites. We stock it across our Deer Park, Pakenham, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo yards.
Most builders reach for Durasheet when they need a flat, durable sheet for the underside of a roofline or any external ceiling area. It’s the sheet that finishes off the eaves once the fascia and gutter are on, and it’s equally at home lining a verandah, alfresco or carport.
The sheet comes in two thicknesses, and the one you want depends on the job:
- 4.5mm — the standard choice for timber-framed homes. Use it for eaves and soffit linings, and for cladding features like gable ends. This covers the majority of residential work.
- 6.0mm — the heavier option for light commercial builds, steel-framed construction, and cyclonic wind zones where the extra thickness earns its keep.
Both can be hand-nailed or screwed, so it slots into how your crew already works rather than forcing a new method on site. Durasheet also comes in a good spread of sheet sizes, which matters when you’re fitting out narrow eaves on one job and wide soffits on the next — less cutting, less waste, fewer joins.
Because it’s fibre cement and not timber, it doesn’t absorb water the way a timber lining can, won’t rot in shaded damp spots under the eaves, and gives termites nothing to eat. Prime and paint it to match your fascia and the finish holds up for years.

FAQs
What’s the difference between 4.5mm and 6.0mm Durasheet?
4.5mm suits standard timber-framed residential eaves and soffits. Step up to 6.0mm for steel framing, light commercial work, or cyclonic wind zones where you need more rigidity.
Can Durasheet be used for external ceilings and carports?
Yes. It’s designed for soffits, eaves, verandah and carport ceilings, and other protected external ceiling areas.
Do I nail or screw Durasheet?
Either. It can be hand-nailed or screwed, depending on your framing and preference.
Does it need painting?
Durasheet is supplied unfinished and should be primed and painted, which also lets you colour-match it to your fascia and trim.
Can I get it cut to size or buy in bulk?
