FloorSure Structural Flooring Melbourne – Buy Structural Cement Flooring:

Need a subfloor that carries real load without the wait, weight and mess of a concrete pour? FloorSure is a high-strength structural cement floor board that gives builders and renovators the strength of concrete with the installation speed of a timber sheet floor.
Installing FloorSure is a smart option for new builds, renovations, wet area upgrades or replacing a tired timber subfloor before tiling, vinyl or engineered timber goes down.

Melbourne Timber Supplies now stocks FloorSure structural flooring for residential, commercial and renovation projects across Deer Park, Pakenham, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo.

Need to buy structural flooring in Melbourne or compare it against concrete, AAC or fibre cement? We’re here to help.

What Is FloorSure?

FloorSure is a 30mm magnesium oxysulphate (MOS) cement structural flooring board, reinforced with fibreglass mesh and manufactured with tight tolerances for a flat, uniform finish.

It’s designed as a structural floor substrate over timber or light-gauge steel framing, and it’s manufactured with tongue-and-groove edges so boards line up quickly with no levelling compound required.

Unlike a poured concrete floor, FloorSure doesn’t need mixing, curing time or wet trades on site — it installs using the same tools and fixings already used for a timber subfloor.

Benefits of FloorSure Include:

✔  Concrete-level strength without the pour

✔  Faster installation than concrete, AAC or fibre cement panels

✔  Non-combustible and low-silica for safer cutting on site

✔  Rated for wet areas and correctly detailed external applications

✔  Backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty

Why Buy FloorSure Structural Flooring Melbourne?

Builders and renovators are moving to FloorSure because it solves a problem timber sheet flooring and traditional concrete both struggle with — a floor that’s strong enough for real loads but fast enough to keep a build program on schedule.

Here are some of the reasons tradies and homeowners are choosing FloorSure:

Serious Strength

FloorSure is independently tested to a bending strength above 20 MPa dry and 14 MPa wet, and certified to meet NCC/BCA deemed-to-satisfy requirements under AS/NZS 1170.1.

It holds concentrated loads up to 4.5 kN in commercial applications and distributed loads up to 7.5 kPa, at joist centres out to 600mm.

Faster Installation

There’s no mixing, no pour and no waiting on a slab to cure. Boards go down with construction adhesive and mechanical fixings, using standard trade tools.

Tight manufacturing tolerances mean the finished floor is flat and ready for the next trade, without levelling work.

Safer to Cut and Handle

FloorSure contains less than 1% crystalline silica, well under the threshold that triggers the strict SafeWork controls applied to higher-silica sheet products.

It’s also non-combustible to AS 1530.1, with zero flame spread and zero heat evolved under AS 1530.3.

Wet Area and External Performance

Where standard particleboard flooring can swell and delaminate, FloorSure holds its shape in bathrooms, laundries and correctly detailed external areas like balconies and covered decks.

Better Thermal and Acoustic Performance

With a thermal mass around 60 kJ/m²·K, FloorSure helps moderate indoor temperature swings and can support NatHERS and BASIX outcomes. Its density also improves airborne and impact sound performance.

Backed by a Warranty

Every FloorSure board carries a 10-year product warranty, covering manufacturing defects and material degradation under normal service conditions when installed to specification.

Types of FloorSure Boards Available

FloorSure is supplied in two board sizes to suit different project needs:

Standard Boards

2700 x 600 x 30mm — the standard size stocked for most residential and commercial flooring jobs.

Special Order Boards

2400 x 600 x 30mm — available to special order for projects that call for the shorter length.

Both sizes weigh approximately 61kg per 2700mm board, or around 38kg per square metre, so handling stays manageable for a two-person team on site.

Uses for FloorSure Structural Flooring

Commercial

  • Multi-storey light-gauge steel-frame builds

How to Select the Right Structural Flooring

Ready to spec structural flooring for your project? Here are some key things to consider:

Application

Is the floor going into a wet area, an external balcony, or a standard internal room? FloorSure is rated across all three, but detailing requirements differ.

Load Requirements

Residential and commercial applications carry different load ratings. Confirm your concentrated and distributed load requirements before finalising joist spacing.

Joist Spacing

FloorSure is rated to 600mm joist centres, with 450mm centres commonly used as the ideal spacing for most jobs.

Finish

Tiles, vinyl, carpet, laminate and engineered timber can all be installed over FloorSure, along with waterproofing membranes to AS 4654 in wet areas.

FloorSure Structural Flooring Price Guide

How much does FloorSure cost compared with concrete, AAC or fibre cement? As with any structural product, price depends on a few key factors:

Quantity

Ordering in bulk for a full subfloor or multi-room renovation will bring down the unit price compared with small top-up orders.

Board Size

Standard 2700 x 600 x 30mm boards are the most cost-effective option. Special order 2400 x 600 x 30mm boards may carry a lead time and price difference.

Installation Savings

Because FloorSure installs faster than concrete, AAC or fibre cement, and needs no levelling compound, the overall installed cost is often lower than the board price alone suggests once labour and trade time are factored in.

Delivery

Delivery cost will depend on your location relative to our Deer Park, Pakenham, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo yards.

When comparing structural flooring prices, it always helps to look at total installed cost rather than board price alone. Visit Melbourne Timber Supplies online now, or contact your local yard, and we’ll help you find the right structural flooring solution for your next building project.
