At 138mm wide, this board gives you plenty to work with. The interesting part is that it’s still only 11mm thick, so the proportions are quite different from a heavier timber section. It can be useful when the job needs a broad face without a lot of depth. There’s no decorative profile here; what you see is straightforward dressed pine, complete with the grain and natural differences you’d expect from timber. If you’re replacing an existing board, check more than one spot before deciding on the size. Older houses aren’t always consistent, and what’s fitted in one part of a room may differ slightly somewhere else.
